Celebrities, sponsors and Qolf enthusiasts will flock to Avianto on Thursday, in support of CANSA’s efforts to promote breast cancer awareness.

QOLF is a newly-developed short golf game, focusing on chipping and pitching, and the organisers are getting the ball rolling by supporting an important cause, Breast Cancer awareness.

Society megastar Edith Venter is Patron of the Gauteng CANSA Association, and she sees great scope for the initiative, telling gsport that Qolf had kindly agreed to offer the venue free-of-charge to CANSA, in a fund-raising effort.

Initially sold as fun for the family in the back yard, the game and brand has come of age with more than 25 QOLF courses under construction around the country, and Avianto is set to be the flagship.

Played on a 6,000 m2 mini-9 hole QOLF course complete with tee boxes, greens fairways and bunkers, this is no longer just a great family fun game and unique golf practice tool, but the ultimate, politically correct golf day where everyone can have serious fun with no intimidation for those who are not golfers.

While being a golfer would definitely have an advantage, holes are only 60 odd meters long and every player may use only a pitching wedge, thus allowing the whole office or team to be included in the selection for the four balls for the QOLF day.

Unlike on a golf course, for your QOLF day, you could make up some of your own company rules. The course has numerous “Sponsor” areas for interaction with the players during the game, making this a fantastic option for fundraising QOLF days.

The entire venue may be hired for the day for an event like a car launch, but a morning or afternoon private QOLF day would accommodate most clients looking for an exclusive experience.

Individual 4 ball bookings may be made as well and can be done up to 1 month in advance.

The new facilities include a clubhouse, which overlooks the QOLF course and features a patio, QOLF bar and complete change room facilities.

Elevated above this, overlooking the pool and QOLF course, are a small function room and lounge, a supper deck and the open plan kitchen – where there is a heavy leaning to chocolate.
