As gsport marks 19 years of uniting South Africa behind the power of women’s sport, the platform is proud to announce a landmark partnership with Red Cherry Interactive as the official content and activation partner for the 20th edition of the gsport Awards.

The milestone day, Friday, 1 August 2025, began with a live finalist announcement on SABC 1 and across SABC digital platforms, bringing the nation together in celebration of women’s sporting excellence.

Later that afternoon, the campaign gathered momentum at a special celebration hosted at Red Cherry Interactive’s vibrant studios in Johannesburg, where gsport Presenter Squad alumni, media partners, selected #gsport20 finalists, and friends of the movement came together for the second #gsport20 Gratitude Lunch.

The event was graced by Brand South Africa representatives and members of the Red Cherry Interactive executive team, underscoring the growing corporate and national support for women in sport. Adding her signature energy, Mama Joy Chauke brought the vibe, embodying the spirit of South African sport and setting the tone for the season ahead.

The celebration also marked the launch of Brand South Africa’s first #SportsFriday of August, calling on all South Africans to use the day weekly during Women’s Month to amplify their support for women in sport.

With over 30 years of industry leadership, Red Cherry Interactive is uniquely positioned to become a legacy partner of this landmark edition of the gsport Awards.

“We’re thrilled to work with Red Cherry Interactive, a partner that shares our passion for empowerment and storytelling.”
