Roxy Wahine Cup Builds Up

South Africa’s hottest surfing talent will be in action at the country’s premier stand-alone women’s surfing contest, The Roxy Wahine Cup. The ninth edition of the Roxy Wahine Cup, South Africa’s only stand-alone women’s surfing event, will take to the waters of Suncoast Beach on Durban’s Golden Mile from November 30 – December 2, 2007.

This premier event, which attracts the country’s hottest female surfing talent, has five divisions, the ‘Novice,’ ‘Under 14’, ‘Under 16’, ‘Under 18,’ as well as the premier Open Division.

Large numbers of entries in the novice division are the norm for this event, as the winner receives one year’s full sponsorship from Roxy.

Once again, the contest will also launch the highly successful ROXY LEARN TO SURF TOUR, which takes place at several premier beach resorts on the east and west coasts of South Africa simultaneously, ending on January 5, 2008.

Girls participating in the tour will be coached by former surfing champions Kenny Matthews (East Coast Tour) and Roxy Towill (West Coast Tour).
