The SPAR South African women’s hockey team is gearing for a tough battle with world number two, Argentina, at the Samsung Women’s Hockey World Cup in Madrid, Spain.
Coach Jenny King told gsport that “the team had taken confidence out of our defensive effort” against Korea, and they believe they can take points off Argentina.
South Africa started off their world cup campaign with a 1-nil loss against Australia. In their second game, they did well to hold on for a 0-0 draw against the highly rated Koreans, with a sterling performance from Caroline Jack in goals.
Tonight’s game against Argentina kicks off at 6pm (SA time).
