South Africa lost 40-35 to Malawi yesterday morning but then bounced back with a confidence-boosting 62-32 win over Botswana.
South Africa’s other win in the competition came against the Malawi under-21 side, winning 61-29.
South Africa have their work cut out when they get home, as they prepare for the World Championships in Fiji next year.
There is also the case of the coach, Burta de Kock, who has been appointed on a temporary basis. Her contract comes up for review in the next few weeks.
De Kock took over from Marlene Wagner, who resigned after the team’s tour of Fiji and New Zealand.
