SA v Korea: 1st Half Update

SA managed to squeeze out an undeserved goalless first half against Korea in their second match at the Samsung Women’s Hockey World Cup in Madrid.

The national women’s team struggled to get the ball on attack against a skilful Korean team, who kept Marsha Marescia’s team in their own half under extreme pressure for the 35 minutes.

Coach Jenny King will be frustrated at the many missed opportunities to take the game to Korea, with far too many passes intercepted or misdirected into open space.

Caroline Jack was kept on maximum alert in the goal, and pulled off three spectacular saves to maintain SA’s chances in the second half.
