Following their fourth place finish at the recently concluded FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup 2023 in Pretoria, the SPAR South Africa Indoor Hockey Women’s team has risen to an all-time high of sixth on the World Rankings.

SA Indoor Hockey is now looking forward preparing plans and programmes for the team, in the build-up to the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in 2025.

With the SA Indoor Hockey IPT that took place at the Thomas More College done and dusted, the broader squad for the team has been announced.

From this broader squad, the test teams will be selected for the upcoming series, with 12 players who represented the country in the successful World Cup being retained.

Acting CEO of SA Hockey Shaune Baaitjies:

“The SPAR South Africa Indoor Hockey team took us to new heights at the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in Pretoria.

“We are excited to see their continued growth on the global stage as they look to raise the bar even higher and contest at the business end of the tournament on a consistent basis.

“The squad selected is exciting with the number of uncapped players in the picture also improving our depth further!”
