England head coach Sarina Wiegman has signaled her intentions to lead the national team to victory at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in Australia and New Zealand.
According to a post on The Guardian, Wiegman said: “That [pride is] how I approach it.
“Don’t always think of the result. We’re not going to a World Cup just to play, we’re going there to win.”
The Dutch-born football manager has had a successful tenure with the Lionesses after leading the team to their first ever major tournament title at Euro 2022.
