Saskia Hockly Grabs Bronze on Opening Day of ICF Marathon World Champs

Saskia Hockly made a grand opening for Team South Africa, grabbing a bronze medal on the opening day of the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships at the village of Ponte de Lima in Portugal on Thursday, 29 September 2022.

This is a second successive Junior Women’s K1 bronze medal victory for Hockly, after her performance at the same event over a year ago in Romania.

In the K1 women’s short race final, South Africa’s Nikki Birkett finished in 8th position (14:57:76), while Jenna Nisbet completed the race in 9th (15:14:19).
