Sebolelo Motlhabi a Morabaraba Protea Contender

Rushing to the final announcement of the venue for National Team Trials (NTT), Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is exceptionally busy collating the full lists of players who have qualified for such trials.

Even though there were a number of players that qualified at multiple events, the game of Morabarabahas seen a huge upsurge in the number of qualifiers of the past few years.

Some players take a  dim view of players being allowed to qualify at more than one event. Such is often referred to as ‘gatekeeping’.

However, MSSA encourages players to qualify at more than one event as, not only does it keep the same standard of play across the country, it allows players to hone their skills and develop against a greater talent pool.

Some players, like Anne Lee Steyn, Joseph Mathlong, and Natelene Burger have such multiple qualifications.

However, it is players like Sebolelo Motlhabi and Siyabonga Mogale (both of North West University) that will be the biggest challenge to all.

Sebolelo Motlhabi is currently the female North west Provincial Champion and is currently ranked second (overall) in the country.
