by | May 23, 2007

Top seeds Monica Gorny and Carla Watson each progressed through to the finals in the U16 and U14 divisions respectively, at the Dunlop Mini Series being played at Durban’s Westridge Park Tennis Stadium today.

Gorny in particular took advantage of conditions to progress without losing a game in her match against unseeded Tarryn Mallet to meet second-seeded Kelsey Read in the U16 finals, after she beat fourth-seed Claire Brayshay to challenge the title.

In the Under 14 division Watson will meet third seed Annica Marais, who upset second-seed Lizel Birkenstock for a chance of lifting the trophy.
In the U12 division second-seeded Jodi Davidson recorded the second-best result of the day to face Jenna Davidson in the finals, after the third seed ousted age-group top seed Ilze Hattingh in a closely-matched encounter.
