South African international fast bowler Shabnim Ismail has made a return to the club where she made her Women’s Big Bash League debut, signing a new deal with Melbourne Renegades on Wednesday, 31 August 2022.
Ismail has 27 wickets from WBBL matches under her name across three seasons with the Renegades and Sydney Thunder.
Excited to be back into this season’s WBBL, the Capetonian said she’s happy to make a return to one of her favourite competitions to play.
The Proteas speedster is currently in fourth place on the ICC bowling ranking, in both T20I and ODI formats; and has more than 300 international wickets, including 115 in T20Is with an economy of 5.8.
Her team, the Renegades will begin their WBBL|08 season on 16 October against Brisbane Heat in Mackay.
