Nigeria’s skeleton racer, Simidele Adeagbo, has become the first African woman Winter Olympian to be inducted into the Olympians for Life Hall of Fame.
The achievement honours athletes who have drawn on their Olympic experience to make the world a better place by promoting the prestigious tournament’s values at every stage of their lives.
Adeagbo was inducted for her ongoing work to inspire and empower girls from marginalised communities through the power of winter sport.
Posting on Twitter, Adeagbo reveals that she is on a mission to build a legacy.

Canadian speed skater and cyclist, Clara Hughes, was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for her trailblazing devotion to combat the stigma around mental illness.
