South African breaststroke swimmer Simone Moll topped the charts, winning three gold medals at the Region 5 Games in Lilongwe, Malawi on Monday, 5 December 2022.
Moll bagged gold in the 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and the 4x100m freestyle relay.
All the way from Heidelberg in Gauteng, Moll performed her personal best of 1:11.48.
The 17-year-old will be hoping to add more on Tuesday, with her favourite event the 50m breaststroke on the programme.
Earlier, Kaitlynne Horne became South Africa’s first gold medalist in the pool winning the 200m freestyle gold in 2:11.11.
