South Africa were grouped in Pool C alongside Jamaica, Wales and Sri Lanka, as the official 2023 Netball World Cup draw took place in East London on Wednesday, 30 November 2022.

The 2023 Netball World Cup will take place July/ August in Cape Town with Netball South Africa hosting 15 countries from around the world.

“Whilst we enjoy sport, including Netball, for its entertainment value, for a developing country like ours, we have an additional responsibility to leave a legacy beyond the tournament, which involves making the disadvantaged communities better-off than they were before the event,” said Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa.

This is the first time that the Netball Word Cup will be hosted on African soil.

The 16 teams were each drawn according to World Netball rankings based on matches played up to the 3rd of November 2022.
