The Springbok Women’s Sevens team have booked themselves a spot in the quarter-final round at the Dubai Sevens International Invitational tournament, after securing a 33-0 victory over Tunisia on Friday, 02 December 2022.
The ladies in green and gold led 14-0 at halftime against Tunisia, with co- captain Mathrin Simmers scoring two tries and both were converted by Nadine Roos.
In the second half, SA showed more dominance with Eloise Webb adding two more tries to the scoreboard. Also, Jakkie Cilliers scored her first try to extend the lead to 33-0 and to finish on top of Pool A.
“The more we play, the better we become and knowing that we could play up to three more matches here in Dubai will put us in good shape for Cape Town next weekend,” concluded Simmers.
Their quarter-final match against Ireland Invitational is on Saturday, 03 December at 08h00 (CAT).
