The Springbok women’s rugby team face England at the IRB Women’s Rugby World Cup tonight, looking to bounce back from a crushing loss to Australia in their opening game last Friday.
Centre Zolisa Noxeke scored South Africa’s first ever points in a Women’s RWC match with her 26th minute try but Australia were too good for the Boks, winning 68-12.
After the loss to Australia, Springbok coach, David Dobela admitted that the team’s inexperience was shown up.
Captain Nomsebenzi Tsotsobe said she was happy with the forwards and with the improved effort in the second half although she, too, was surprised at how tough the match was.
Tonight’s game against England kicks off at 2:30 Canada time.
In other games later tonight, New Zealand will be looking to follow their opening day win over Canada with another against Samoa.
Ireland and USA will be looking for their first win of the tournament, whilst Kazakhstan will face an in-form Scotland.
Hosts Canada take on Spain and Australia face France.
