Highly regarded international athletes Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe have launched a new production company called “A Touch More”, as announced on Tuesday, 7 December 2022.

The company will focus on stories of revolutionaries who “move culture forward.” The pair also stated that the company will help by amplifying the narrative around identity, activism and underrepresented communities, including LGBTQ people, POC and women.
“Before a revolution happens, it is perceived as impossible. After it happens, it is seen as having been inevitable.”

The five-time Olympic gold medallist, Bird and her partner, Rapinoe who is a two-time FIFA World Cup winner, explained that the company was created to, “bring a touch more understanding, connection, entertainment, and conversation to the evolving media landscape.”
The duo further added, “As athletes, we know how powerful our platforms are and the impact we can have on the world.”
The production company has partnered with another media outlet called TOGETHXR, with fellow top pro athletes Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim and Simone Manuel.
The two entities have collaborated with a mission to narrow the coverage gap in sport media, where studies show; women’s sport receive less than 10% of the coverage, despite the fact that women represent 40% of all athletes.
