In a much-anticipated rematch, Mamelodi Sundowns went head-to-head against defending champions, Green Buffaloes of Zambia, resulting in a thrilling 3-1 victory for the South African team. The game commenced with Boitumelo Rabale narrowly missing a scoring opportunity within the opening three minutes.

The defending champions later seized the advantage with a stunning strike from Maylan Mulenga, maintaining their lead for 20 minutes until Sundowns’ captain, Zanele Nhlapho, restored parity. Winger Chuene Morifi, a pivotal figure in Sundowns’ goal-scoring efforts, notched her second goal during the second half.

A late Tiisetso Makhubela penalty sealed the victory, propelling Makhubela to a shared top spot in the goal-scoring chart with Ontlametse, each with three goals in the competition.
