CAF Women’s Champions League semi-finalists, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, retained their unbeaten record to top Group B after a goalless draw with Morocco’s ASFAR on Friday, 12 November 2021.

The Jerry Tshabalala-coached side were first to make their intentions clear ten minutes into the match when a free-kick from outside the area by Boitumelo Rabale clattered off the top of the crossbar.

By the midway mark, ASFAR’s confidence began to grow with a couple of chances, however they could not get the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half, the Moroccans continued to pile on the pressure with a highlight chance where Ghizlane Chebbak clattered a low ball from a tight angle off a short free-kick against the post.

Later in the game, Sundowns began to find their footing again when substitute, Nhlanhla Mthandi, created a chance from a decent position but the effort was unsuccessful.

The South African’s will face Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo Kings in the semi-final round on Monday, 15 November.
