South African hockey player, Edith Molikoe, has taken to social media to call on the public for financial assistance as she has been selected to represent the country at the 2021 Junior Women’s World Cup in Potchefstroom in December.
The players selected for Team South Africa are responsible for the cost for transportation to and from camp as well as paying for accommodation.
“Hockey is not a professional sport in South Africa (unfortunately), so it makes it a lot harder to just focus on the game and playing – thus making me have to raise my own money,” Molikoe shared on her Instagram page.
“It has always been a dream of mine to be able to represent my country and my dream is slowly but surely coming true,” – SA Hockey Player, Edith Molikoe, calling for financial assistance to attend the Junior Hockey World Cup
“Finances are never a nice thing to talk about or think about, especially in the times that we are living in, but in order for me to live out my dream, I need your help. All of the money that is raised will be used to help fund my way to all the necessary camps and tournaments.”
