Momentum Proteas captain Suné Luus was the big winner at the Titans Cricket Awards ceremony, which honoured top performers for the 2022/23 campaign.
Following her impressive performances this season in Sky Blue, Luus won the Weber Women’s Player of the Season and Women’s 50 Over Player of the Year accolades.
For the CSA Women’s Provincial One Day Cup, Luus, who spends a lot of time with the Momentum Proteas, made a welcome return to the Fidelity Titans. She excelled when called upon with bat or ball and had a huge impact on the group and the team’s performance in the matches.
Women’s Most Promising Player was awarded to Lesedi Madisha, while Women’s T20 Player of the Year went to Eliz-Mari Marx.
The Women’s Players’ Player of the Year went to Robyn Searle.
The Titans CEO DR Jacques Faul congratulated the players, saying: “I enjoy these occasions because it provides us an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of one of our biggest stakeholders. It’s their night to enjoy themselves and a reward for the work they’ve put into the last season. Congratulations to all the winners and the nominees from the Fidelity and Momentum Multiply Titans on the successful season.”
Faul also acknowledged the legends who made an impact in the sport, like Mignon du Preez who retired from international cricket.
“It’s always been important to us to recognise our legends and to give them the respect and treatment that’s due to them. They do a lot in making the Titans who we are so it’s only right that we give them the acknowledgement they deserve.” Faul concluded.
