World no. 12 SA women’s hockey upset world no. 4 Great Britain 3-1 in their opening Investec London Cup on Tuesday, as Sulette Damons, Bernie Coston and Jen Wilson kept the scoreboard ticking over while Lisa Deetlefs, Lenise Marais, and goalkeeper Mariette Rix were just 3 of the South Africans who made critical tackles in defence.
International Friendly Begins Olympic Lead-Up
Giles Bonnet put his team through their first international friendly in his London 2012 preparation against Great Britain Olympic team on Thursday afternoon. SA lost the match 1-5, and won the practice penalty shootout 4-0
