British road race champion Sharon Laws became the first international cyclist to win the Momentum 94.7 Women’s Race. Her compatriot Catherine Williamson came second. Cherise Stander was the first South African home in third place.

Anriette Schoeman won the 93km Durban leg of the Engen Dynamic Cycle Challenges 2012 Series on the weekend for her second gold medal in the series, after earlier winning the 1st leg of the series in Wellington.
Stander’s World Champs Prep on Track

Cherise Stander’s preparation for the 2012 Road World Championships, which take place in Valkenburg, Holland from 15-23 September, is well on track after back-to-back wins this past weekend, in a 70km MTB marathon in Centurion on Saturday before a 93km Dome2Dome road race in Fourways on Sunday.

Leandri du Toit secured her biggest win in her short career when she won the Lost City Classic road cycling race on Saturday. She claimed the honours in a time of 03 hours 08 minutes 42 seconds, edging out Sarah Chemaly (MTN Qhubeka) and Toyota CSA teammate, Lynette Burger, who were second and third respectively.
