The first day of the SA Students Sports Union (SASSU) hockey week at the Pukke Hockey Academy in Potchefstroom saw several exciting matches in the A Section in particular, which is the top end of this tournament.

Boland took on the EP Settlers in the opening match of B-Pool at the SPAR Inter-Provincial Hockey tournament in Cape Town on Monday, and after a nil-all half-time score, Boland opened the tournament scoring from a penalty.
