Meiring Wins SARU Achiever of the Year

Blue Bulls player Yolanda Meiring has been named as the Peyer Women’s Achiever of the Year in acknowledgement for her outstanding 10-year playing career, at the annual South African Rugby Union Awards.
Women’s Sevens in the Spotlight
SARU has announced a squad of 12 to play in a Sevens tournament in China later month. This will serve as a warm up tournament for the SA women’s team in preparation for the first tournament of the inaugural World Sevens series that kicks off at the end of November in Dubai.
SA to Play in Women’s Sevens World Series
The SA Sevens team will play in the inaugural IRB Women’s Sevens World Series. The first round will be in Dubai from 30 November to 1 December, 2012.

SARU Picks Squad of 24 for Senior Nations Cup in Canada
The South African Rugby Union has announced a squad of 24 players for the senior Women’s Nations Cup tournament in Toronto, Canada from 2 – 14 August. There are six players in the squad who did not participate in the 2010 IRB Women’s World Cup tournament in England.
