The week has not only been filled with excitement from the 2022 Momentum gsport Awards finalists reveal but more women using their position to touch lives.
Women’s Africa Cup of Nations goalkeeper of the tournament and Telkom Woman of the Year Finalist Andile Dlamini spent her time outside of football inspiring learners at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls on Monday afternoon.
The WAFCON winning goalkeeper who comes from humble beginnings told a story of how she desired to attend the OWLAG (As it is affectionately known) but her application was not successfully and that is what made it special to return to the school as a motivational speaker.
“A few years ago I applied to this school, I wanted to be a part of it so badly but my application was not successful and I believe God had a different plan for me just as he has different plans for everyone that is here today.” Dlamini told a packed hall of learners.
“I hope you guys understand how privileged you are to have been chose to be part of this school. It shows that you are intelligent and will go on to achieve great things. It is important that you believe in yourselves and know what it will take for you to reach your desired goals.” Added Dlamini.
Dlamini also encouraged the learners to be part of the #gsport17 voters and give her the best chance of walking away with the Telkom Woman of the Year award at the Momentum gsport awards.
“Today was fantastic I don’t want to lie, I enjoyed each and every moment. I loved the welcome and I really appreciate the love and support.”
“I would like to thank gsport and Telkom for the opportunity, I really appreciate it and I hope that the people will vote for me. Thank you to my teammates for both Mamelodi Sundowns and Banyana Banyana, I appreciate you and God Bless you,” concluded Dlamini.
Voting for the Momentum gsport awards will run until the 31st of August 2022.
