On the 26th July 2018, the 2nd and 3rd year Sport Management students from the Department of Marketing, Logistics and Sport Management at the Tshwane University of Technology, as part of an academic year assignment, hosted the launch of the 2018 season of the TUT Female Football Internal League.
The event took place at the TUT Pretoria Campus, where the 7 participating teams and their respective supporters, from the surrounding residences, were welcomed in true emphatic style with each team being cheered onto a main stage infront of the pavilion crowd.
This year, the committee consisted of 2nd and 3rd year students together with their CATHSSETA line manager, Marensia Khosi, original chairperson.
The students from the campus enjoyed every moment and were entertained by means of the TUT choir as well as various acts.
The night ended with a friendly game between TUT Sport’s finest first and second female football teams.
The league will officially start with matches being played on the 30th July, with finals scheduled for the beginning of September.
This is one of the collaborations where academic sporting (TUTMLS) and practical entities (TUT Sport) at university come together to benefit the student population.
