Uganda Cricket Association announced that 12 Victoria Pearls players have received professional contracts on Wednesday, 08 March 2023.

As a result of the development, the Association will pay the chosen athletes a monthly income, along with benefits such as medical coverage.

The awarded contracts will be evaluated every four months, according to the Association.

The decision, which was made and publicised on International Women’s Day, has huge motivation, particularly given the time of year when they will be traveling to South Africa for the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Considering the 12 players under contract, two groups, 1 and 2, have been created based on their results from the previous season.

Uganda Women Contractors:

Category 1: Consy Aweko, Immaculate Nakisuyi, Kevin Awino, Evelyn Anyipo, Janet Mbabazi, Sarah Akiteng and Rita Musamali

Category 2: Stephanie Nampiina, Phiona Khulume, Irene Alumo, Patricia Malemikia, Gloria Obukor
