University of Nebraska have set a new world record attendance for a women’s sporting event, after a 92 003 crowd flocked to the Memorial Stadium in Lincoln for their volleyball match against University of Nebraska-Omaha on Wednesday, 30 August 2023.

This was the largest crowd to ever see a women’s sporting event in history, as the previous record of 91,648 was set during a UEFA Women’s Champions League soccer semifinal in 2022 between Barcelona and Wolfsburg.

In a press conference before the match, sophomore middle blocker Bekka Allick, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It honestly leaves me speechless… It’s hard to grasp 94,000 people.”

Adding the cherry on top, Nebraska won 25-14 25-14 25-13, to concluded a spectacular outing.
