With 21 goals scored in the first week of the Hollywoodbets Super League, the 2023 season is back with clubs ready to fight for the title.
The University of Western Cape showed their hunger after a magnificent 9-1 victory over Coal City Wizards at Puma Stadium in Witbank on Saturday, 04 February 2023.
With six goals that were scored within the first half of the match, Ntombifikile Ndlovu scored a hat-trick, while Sibulele Holweni scored a brace.
Other games of the day saw City Lads welcoming new opponents TS Galaxy Queens, to the league. It was the home side who managed to keep all three points, after a 1-0 victory at Isaac Wolfson stadium.
Meanwhile, Royal AM and UJ FC recorded 2-0 victories over Ma-Indies Ladies and Durban Ladies, respectively.
On Sunday, 05 February 2023, Copperbelt Ladies beat newly promoted University of Pretoria 2-1 at Old Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
JVW FC were held to a 1-all draw against Thunderbirds, while First Touch Academy were held to the same scoreline against TUT FC.
Elsewhere, defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies secured a 1-0 win over Richmond United, courtesy of a goal from Boitumelo Rabale.
