South African wheelchair ace, Mariska Venter, suffered both singles and doubles defeat in the Bolton Indoor Tournament on Thursday, 20 February 2020, hosted in Great Britain.

Venter went down in the second round of the singles event to British top seed Jordanne Whiley, 6-2 6-3, after making a winning start on Wednesday, 19 February, beating Great Britain’s Helen Bond, 6-0 6-1.

The South African then went on to partner Emmanuelle Morch in the doubles quarterfinal against Russia’s Viktoriia Lvova and Netherlands’ Michaela Spaantra, hoping to find her way back into the tournament.

However, the match ended 7-5 4-6 10-8 in favour of Lvova and Spaantra to see Venter out of the tournament which will come to a close on Saturday, 22 February 2020.
