Banyana Banyana secured a 2-0 win over Costa Rica in their final friendly match ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Saturday, 15 July. 

The victory will come as a welcome boost for the Desiree Ellis coached side as they will head into the global showpiece on a positive note, with goals coming from Thembi Kgatlana and Hildah Magaia in both halves of the match.

Banyana Banyana will get their World Cup campaign underway against Sweden on Sunday, 23 July at 07h00am SA time. 

Their second group match against Argentina will take place on Friday, 28 July at 02h00am and their final group game against Italy on Wednesday, 2 August at 09h00am.
