The Women’s Premier Division Rugby league made its return, with a total of three matches played in Johannesburg, Cape Town and East London on Saturday, 6 May 2023.

EP Queens, DHL Western Province and Bulls Daisies all secured victories in their respective matches of the first round of the league.

Travelling from the Eastern Cape, EP Queens faced Mastercard Lions at UJ Stadium. The Queens, who are coached by Lex de Vos and assisted by Zeney Jordan, made sure they put on a show to beat the homeside 48-10.

The ladies from Pretoria,  Bulls Daisies, traveled all the way to the Eastern Cape where they took on last year’s champions, Border Ladies, at Police Park in East London. The ladies in blue made sure to make the best of their trip as they secured a 31-0 victory.

In Cape Town there was also a show at Hamilton Rugby Club. The ladies in the blue and white stripes showed no mercy to the ladies in black and white from Durban, as DHL Western Province defeated Sharks Women 31-14.
