The USSA Basketball Championships took place in Durban over the weekend and it was VUT who retained their 2022 title after beating Tuks in the final making them winners for the 13th time.

Maties Hockey also retained their 2022 title after dominating their game from start to finish to beat North West University 2-1 in the final.
Maties captain Ongeziwe Mali landed three trophies at the medal ceremony for her outstanding performances throughout the tournament. Mali grabbed the Woman of the Match in their final game, Top Goal Scorer and Player of the Tournament.

While in Stellenbosch, Maties hosted the 2023 USSA Netball Championships. The Maroon Machines definitely put up a show for the home crowd to retain their 2022 title.
In what was an exhilarating match between the Maties and Tuks, it was the Maroon Machines who came out victorious beating the ladies from Pretoria 47-39 in the final.
