Teams in the Hollywoodbets Super League are making an effort to end the season in the best position possible with just under 3 weeks left to go in the 2024/25 campaign.
Week 28 of South Africa’s women’s national league saw TS Galaxy Queens cement their place in 4th position on the log standings following a 2-1 win over TUT Matsatsantsa FC at the KaNyamazane Stadium in Mbombela.
This was probably one of the most highly attended games this season with the stadium almost full to capacity, much to the pleasure of chairman and owner of TS Galaxy, Mr Tim Sukazi who when speaking to SABC Sport after the encounter highlighted that teams in the Betway Premiership should seriously consider buying into the HBSL.
The Rockets came from behind after Sibongile Ntoane opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half. The hosts came back deep into second half as Nicole Michael (75’) and Alicia Terhart (90+2’) scored the crucial two goals.
TUT go back home to host Royal AM at 09:00 on Saturday 12 October, while The Rockets will entertain relegated Thunderbirds Ladies.

Royal AM were involved in a six-goal thriller against University of Pretoria as Puleng Moremi scored a brace for Thwihli Thwahla. Royal AM slip down to 8th after they were eclipsed by First Touch FC Ladies.
Dikgoshikgadi Tsa Limpopo stunned JVW FC 2-1 at the UJ Soweto Stadium. The home side and their coach Mitch Stevens had to do without two highly experienced campaigners in Gabriela Salgado and Robyn Moodaly who are out injured.
JVW FC will have to come to terms with the fact that they will not achieve their desired goal of finishing in the top 3 and will now play for fourth or fifth as TS Galaxy Queens are fighting to maintain their 4th place.


At the Merino Park in De Aar, Northern Cape University of Western Cape continue to play catch up and they earned 3 points against Richmond United as they attempt to narrow the points gap between them and table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Fikile Magama and Sibulele Holweni both scored on either half of the 90 minutes.
Thinasonke Mbuli’s UWC host Lindelani Ladies who’ve been resolute in their fight to stay in top flight football.
The Durban side beat neighbours Durban Ladies 1-0 in a KZN derby. Mandisa Faya, the sole goal scorer of the clash.
University of Johannesburg continues their surge as they amassed their fifth consecutive win beating Thunderbirds Ladies 3-0 at the Sis Dukashe Stadium in East London.
The Orange Army will aim for a strong finish when they battle Richmond United and Lindelani in their last two fixtures of the season.
