Wendy Trott rewrote the record books in the 400 and 1500 metres
freestyle, at an action-packed Western Province Long Course Swimming
Championships held at the University of the Western Cape,
near Cape Town last weekend.
Trott, who set the 400 metres freestyle African and SA best of 4:12,97
at the World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia earlier this year, produced
consistency and a great turn of speed to set a new African best of 4:11,84.
The Capetonian also bettered her own African mark in the 1500 metres
freestyle, as she took gold in 16:31,09. Her previous African record stood at
16:41, 36.
