Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday released the 18-strong training squad for the national women’s squad, which will prepare for the ICC Women’s World T20 in Sri Lanka this September.
CSA Senior Cricket Manager, Max Jordaan said: “This squad is ready for duty. We’re fortunate to have a preliminary series in the sub-continent against Bangladesh in order for the team to get used to the conditions ahead of the tournament. The team selected has a lot of depth and will give the coach options in terms of game plans.”
Head coach, Yashin Ebrahim-Hassen is satisfied with the ground his team has covered so far. He is looking forward more intensive preparation with the chosen 18 before it is cut to the final 15 in August.
“We have picked a balanced troop which has put in the hard work and has been rewarded with its selection,” he commented.
