Global Racing Team have just had one of their most successful weekends ever with win’s in the UK and Belgium on the same weekend, Great Britain’s Lizzie Armitstead winning in the Carpenwray, and Louise Moriarty beating South Africa’s Yolande du Toit in the Tielt-Winge.
Du Toit was part of a double weekend of races in Belgium, with Saturday effectively a warm-up race for the GP Teilt-Winge on Sunday, held in the town where the team have their European base, so good result is very important.
The first thee laps were aggressive but without major breaks, but then at the end of the third lap Helen Wyman went clear in a group of two, and stayed away for the next 10 laps.
Wyman was caught entering the last lap, but the Global Racing Team was in the right position to for a counter-attack, with Louise Moriarty easily winning the sprint, and the South African cycling talent right behind in second place.
This rounded off a great weekend, and now the team go to Holland for 3 day race, in preparation for the National Championships the following week.
