Since 2006, the gsport Awards have stood as a beacon of recognition, honouring athletes, coaches, administrators, media professionals, volunteers, and pioneers who are changing the face of sport in South Africa. This year, the movement is growing stronger than ever.
Across the continent, passionate voices are rising to nominate game changers. From high-performance athletes to grassroots heroes, a new generation is being celebrated. Not just for their talent, but for their determination, their values, and the way they uplift others.
“Winning on the gsport stage was an honour and a privilege,” says Shamila Sulayman, 2022 Volunteer of the Year. “But the impact was even greater… this #PowerOfRecognition is a strong message. They are seen, they are celebrated, and they are recognised.”
That message is resonating deeply, with nominations arriving from every corner of the continent. First-time nominees. Quiet trailblazers. Future legends.
