SCOTT Sports has signed South African mountain bike racer, Zandri Strydom as one of their international ambassadors, as announced on Tuesday, 31 January 2023.
Strydom is set to join some of the world’s best racers at the SCOTT-SRAM racing team training camp in Stellenbosch, South Africa this week.

In 2022 the young racer switched her to attention to Enduro racing but now with the backing of SCOTT, she’s making a return to XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) racing.
“There is this saying: ‘you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.’ And that accurately describes my feeling that led to this decision.
“I really enjoyed racing Enduro – it’s so much fun. But racing Enduro for the whole of 2022 just made me realize how much I love XCO and how much I miss it.
“I actually missed those intense pre-race nerves and all the hard work that goes into racing XCO.
“Cross-country is also the Olympic discipline and that is the dream – representing your country in Olympics,” said Strydom.
SCOTT Sports Africa Brand Manager Joggie Prinsloo added: “The SCOTT Sports DNA is grounded in racing and high performance.
“Zandri isn’t only an elite athlete with great potential; she is also an inspirational woman.
“Although based in South Africa, Zandri will be included in international campaigns to grow awareness of SCOTT’s Contessa brand, which runs throughout the SCOTT range from the highest-level performance bikes through to commuter bikes.
“We identified Zandri’s talent and potential a few years ago and have kept a watchful eye on her progress until the right moment where we could collaborate with her – and that moment is now.”
For 2023, Strydom will split her time between being a student studying a Bachelor of Agriculture at Stellenbosch and racing. She has kept her goals relatively simple as she makes a return to XCO Racing.
