2016 Olympic silver medalist, Sunette Viljoen, has wished debutant Jo-Ané van Dyk and fellow javelin athletes well as they head into the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Viljoen will not be participating at this year’s instalment due to a shoulder injury, however, she has shown full support for Team SA.
“The medal that I will treasure forever. I wouldn’t be able to defend it in Tokyo due to a shoulder injury. I gave it my all to be ready in time, but I couldn’t.
“To my fellow Javelin Olympians and Team South Africa friends, I want to wish each and everyone of you all the very best. A special word to our javelin Olympic debutant Jo-Ané van Dyk may the spirit of the Olympic Games be a moment to remember! Till we meet in 2024. Citius, Altius, Fortius,” she concluded.
