Ash Finds the Going Tough

South African golf sensation Ashleigh Simon is finding it difficult to negotiate the tricky Royal Lytham and St Annes course.

A number of the world’s top female golfers are in action in the Women’s British Open.

Simon, who carded a first round 5 over par 77 yesterday, is currently 5 over through 14 holes in her second round with a solitary birdie on the 13th.

Fellow South African Laurette Maritz teed off a short while ago, at 3:54pm (SA time).

Overnight leader, Juli Inkster from America continues to lead on 6-under par, after a second round even par 72.

World number one, Annika Sorenstam, followed up her first round even par 72 with a second round 71, which included five birdies.

American teen sensation, Michelle Wie, is currently even par through seven in her second round, after her first round 74.
