Sports Journo Awards Update

SAB has started its call-for-entries through a national road show, which have been designed to provide an opportunity for people in the media to network with colleagues, meet the SAB key role players and the judges for the SAB Sports Journalists of the Year 2006.

Says Kerry Evans, corporate marketing and PR manager for SAB Limited: “It is encouraging to see how enthusiastic the industry is about these awards, and we were pleased with the large turnout at the Johannesburg event.”

Further road shows will take place in Cape Town on the 15th March, and Durban on the 19th March.

Changes have been made to the award categories. Newcomer of the year awards have been added to all three categories (Print and Internet; Radio and Television).

These awards are made to newcomers in their fields who have been in the industry for less than two years.

Photographers are being asked to send through a portfolio of between 5 and 10 photographs with their entries.

These pictures must have been published either in the print media or on the Internet. For more information on the awards please go to www.sablimited.co.za and click on the link under “hotlinks”.
