The top seeds in all four girls age group divisions kept their title hopes alive after progressing through their Round of 16 matches at the American Express Junior National Championships at Oranje Meisieskool in Mangaung on Thursday, 3 April 2026.
In the Girls U18 category, No 1 seed Roxy Bredenkamp (Laerskool Hermanus, Western Cape) produced a dominant display, defeating unseeded Cindy Duvenhage 6-0 6-0 to advance to the quarter-finals. All six of the top seeds in the Girls U18 singles competition progressed to the next round.
The top seeds in the remaining girls age group divisions also advanced, with Lyndsey Philipps (Anthony Harris Tennis Academy, Western Cape) progressing in the Girls U16 category, Winnie Masemola (Hammanskraal Tennis Club, Gauteng) in the Girls U14 category, and Linja Erasmus (Strand, Western Cape) in the Girls U12 division, all keeping their title hopes firmly intact.
Aside from South African titles being on the line in the singles and doubles formats at the national championships, finalists in each event stand to receive wildcard entries from Tennis South Africa for various international tournaments to be played in South Africa later this year.
