The South African Football Association has announced that former Banyana Banyana captain and SAFA Head of Commercial and Marketing Amanda Dlamini will be joining the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) broadcast crew as a Confederation of African Football (CAF) Analyst.
Dlamini will be joining a few other South Africans in Morocco including Potso Mohami who has been recently appointed as the General Co-ordinator of the tournament as well as Desiree Ellis and the team.
The former national player will be looking to use her experience as a footballer and broadcaster at the tournament. Having retired in 2016, she went on to join SuperSport as a football analyst and has become a household name.
She will join a CAF delegation in Rabat, Morocco as an on-the-pitch analyst for the 12th edition of the women’s continental showpiece.
“I am very excited for this opportunity that has been bestowed upon me, and I am very happy that I will be at the AWCON,” said Dlamini to safa.net.
“Women’s football is finally being recognised and this initiative by CAF will also assist in raising the standard and commercial viability of the women’s game. We are looking forward to a great tournament where beautiful football will be displayed,” concluded Dlamini.
The 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nation will be broadcasted live on SuperSport from 2-23 July 2022.
