While the advance of South African champion Lizanne du Plesis to the last round of the Gauteng North Dunslaz Open Results in Pretoria was expected, Kelly Anderson will be pleased with her path leading to the final, particularly her 6-2 6-1 defeat of Tegan Edwards on Friday.
Edward’s progression through the tournament seemed destined, and lost a total of three games in the matches before yesterday’s clash, but Anderson came good on the day, with her best match victory return of the championship.
In her match, top-seeded du Plessis dispatched Andrea Oates in straight sets, though the fourth-seed made her work for the win, taking three games in each set from the champion.
