The Women’s quarterfinals of the Gauteng North Dunslaz Open saw the top seeds progress to the semis, all four winning comfortably in straight sets, with the last remaining unseeded player Chanel Simmons’s run coming to an end.
No. 1 Lizanne du Plessis and second-seeded Tegan Edwards had little to worry about in their matches against Minette Pienaar and Simmons respectively, and the two appear destined for a finals clash.
Andrea Oates will be going all out to upset that prediction in her match against no. 3 Kelly Anderson today, in what is sure to be a closely-matched affair.
Quarter-final Results:
1-Lizanne du Plessis bt 8-Minette Pienaar 6-2 6-2
4-Andrea Oates bt 7-Bianca Swanepoel 6-2 6-4
3-Kelly Anderson bt 5-Lara van Rooyen 6-3 6-3
