Banyana Banyana and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies goalkeeper, Andile Dlamini, bagged the biggest honour on the night at the SA Sport Awards, held at Sun City on Saturday, 25 March 2023.

Dlamini walked away with the People’s Choice Sports Star of the Year accolade at the 16th edition of the annual awards ceremony, taking home a whopping R500 000 cash prize for her outstanding performances for both club and country.

 

The 30-year-old was also part of the Minister’s Excellence Award recipients.

Swimming star and 2022 Momentum gsport Awards triple winner, Lara van Niekerk, was named the Sportswoman of the Year and also earned the Minister’s Excellence Award.

Other winners on the night included eNCA sport reporter, Hloni Mtimkulu, who beat off tough competition to deservedly take home the Sports Journalist of the Year crown.
