Tennis star, Angella Okutoyi, makes Australian Open history becoming the first young girl from Kenya to win a junior Grand Slam match.
In her Grand Slam debut, Okutoyi, who is ranked 60th in the junior rankings, overcame Federica Urgesi 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 .

The 2021 African Junior champion is now poised to face Zara Larke from Australia in the second round.
17-year-old Meshkatolzahra Safi from Iran outshined Australia’s Anja Nayar 6-4, 6-3 to set up her second round match against Belgium’s Sofia Costoulas.
Safi also followed in Okutoyi’s footsteps setting her history-making moment for the Iranians.
